Alicia Thompson is a Psychiatrist in Oklahoma who has been practicing since 2000. She completed her undergraduate training, receiving a BS in Psychology with some graduate course work. She worked with the Intellectually disabled and in chemical dependency during that time and while applying to medical school. Alicia attended the University of Missouri in Columbia for Medical School, General Psychiatric Residency, Child, and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship. During her General Psychiatric training she rotated through pediatric specialties in the place of adult ones, because she knew my primary focus would be working with children. Alicia believes in the benefits of combined pharmacologic treatment along with therapy. She also engages in family systems work and addressing mental health issues in the family as a whole. Early intervention and treatment improve quality of life especially when utilizing a multispecialty approach. In her spare time, Alicia enjoys spending time with her family and dog. She also enjoys the martial arts and is beginning to learn golf. Additionally, she is an avid action movie fan.
