Alyssa earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Oklahoma State University. She furthered her studies and graduated from Northeastern State University in 2013 with her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and earned her license to practice counseling in 2014. Alyssa has extensive training and experience working with children, adolescents, and adults on a variety of concerns including, trauma and abuse, PTSD, substance abuse disorders, self-harm, suicidality, and eating disorders. As a therapist, she utilizes a relational, strength-based, and trauma-informed approach, and integrates a range of therapeutic techniques and methods to assist clients in reaching their full potential. These techniques and methods include DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), MI (Motivational Interviewing), Narrative Therapy, and Client-Centered Therapy. She is passionate about assisting clients as they explore their own abilities and access their strength and resilience to make and maintain the changes that are most meaningful and important to them.
