Balance Women’s Health is proud to announce the opening of our new Maternal Mental Health Center. The center, located 2 doors down from our primary office off 19th and Telephone rd., will begin seeing patients in February. The new center will focus entirely on providing mental health care services for women who are planning to become or are currently pregnant or in the postpartum period. As many as 1 in 7 women will experience a postpartum mood or anxiety disorder, but few reach out for help or seek professional treatment. Our goal is to provide our community with education, support, and the most innovative and effective services available in a nurturing and comfortable environment.

A core service provided at the center will be the new and only FDA approved medication developed to treat postpartum depression called Zulresso (brexanolone).  The medication is administered during a 60-hour infusion and works quickly to relieve symptoms; many patients begin to experience relief within the first 24 hours. This new treatment minimizes the precious time lost to depression and enables our new moms to feel like themselves again quickly.

The center is designed with patient comfort and experience in mind, offering private, well-equipped treatment rooms with adjustable beds, recliners, and space for visitors. Our comfort items include reading materials, music, television, and Wi-Fi access. Patients have dedicated 24-hour nursing care, group and art therapy, and daily physician visits.
