Be Balanced.

We Strive for Healthy Minds, Moods, and Bodies

Taking care of yourself can make a world of difference in how you feel, how others treat you and how well you function in life.  At Balance we believe in the importance of care for your mind, mood and body!

Prioritize Mental Health

Research shows that positive mental health is associated with improved overall health. While everyone experiences stress at times, it is necessary to find ways to cope with stress. Learn about some of the symptoms of depression, anxiety, and other mental health disorders so you can seek treatment when needed.

Physical Activity

Get moving! Physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your overall health and well-being. Exercise helps to prevent and improve a number of health problems including high blood pressure, diabetes and arthritis. Research has shown the psychological and physical benefits of exercise can also help improve mood and reduce anxiety.

Enjoy a Healthy Diet

Nutrition is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle. Learn the basics and move toward a lifestyle of healthier eating habits. A healthy eating plan includes limiting highly processed foods, avoiding too much alcohol and added sugars. By eating a variety of foods that give you the nutrients your body needs (protein, carbohydrates, fat, water, vitamins, and minerals) you can maintain and improve health, energy, and feel good.

Practice Healthy Behaviors

Daily decisions influence overall health. Protect your health by getting the care you need to prevent disease, disability, and injuries. Regular check-ups are important and preventative care can keep disease away or detect problems early, when treatment is more effective.

  • Get enough sleep as it impacts how you feel and perform during the day. Adults need at least 7 hours of sleep each night.
  • Only take prescription medication as directed by your health care provider.
  • Choose to be smoke-free. Smoking harms nearly every organ and organ system in the body and diminishes overall health. The Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline offers free resources, including quit coaching, a quit plan, educational materials, and tobacco replacement therapy.
